| BingSol Pig Roast and Auction To benefit Hospice Volunteers and Meals on Wheels | |
Date: 10/11/2008 Time: 11:00:00 AM | |
Doug and Rita Sukeforth will host their 2nd annual auction and pig roast on Saturday, October 11th at “BingSol”, their family lodge in Bingham. Proceeds will benefit Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area and the Spectrum Generations Meals on Wheels program of Kennebec and Somerset counties. The Sukeforth’s organize the event with help from their family and friends. “These are two very worthwhile charities in our area” said Doug Sukeforth. “We are hoping to exceed the $41,345.00 we raised last year and are confident we can top that mark with help from individuals and businesses in the community. It is a great way for families to spend the day together too so we have tried to make it affordable for everybody.”
Debbie Myers, international recording artist and two time winner at the Maine Academy of Country Music Awards will perform at mid-day. Barry Young, blues and rock n roll musician will perform for guests in the late afternoon. For a modest entrance fee guests will also enjoy a pig roast and barbeque, games, fly fishing, dancing, an evening bonfire, camaraderie, and more. There will be dozens of items available for bidding in a silent auction. Auctioneer Jay Hanson will lead an entertaining live auction after lunch. A 50/50 raffle promises to create excitement as well – last year’s pot exceeded $1,000!
“The Sukeforth’s welcome guests with open arms” said Dale Marie Clark, executive director at Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area. “We are so fortunate that the Sukeforth family holds this benefit and BingSol really is the ideal location for this event. It sits high atop a hill with lots of room to roam, a fish pond, trails and spectacular views of the western mountains at peak foliage. A large tent with side curtains and heaters donated by Are You Ready to Party will assure guests comfort in case of inclement weather. I cannot think of a better way to spend an October afternoon and evening” said Clark.
Guests should bring their own beverages and lawn chairs. Cost is $15 per person $20 per couple or $25 per family of 3 or more. Gates open at 1100am and the dinner buffet will begin at 100pm. To make a contribution or donate an auction item contact Annette Sukeforth-Marin at 872-0117 or amarin326@roadrunner.com. Entrance fees can be paid online at www.hvwa.org/BingSol/index or by contacting Sukeforth-Marin. For more information about the free end-of-life and grief support services offered by Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area go to www.hvwa.org or phone 873-3615.
